The General Directorate of Monuments Administration and Tourist Promotion of Hunedoara County (GDMATP) is a public institution under the coordination of the Hunedoara County Council that was established in 2021 with the main purpose of protecting and enhancing the Dacian fortresses from the Orăștiei Mountains, as well as the historical monuments and memorial houses of local interest. The promotion of cultural values, the tourism promotion of Hunedoara County, and the contribution through specific means to the sustainable development of the county are clear objectives for GDMATP Hunedoara

Description

Hemispherical piece made of limestone, decorated with seven ribs. The lateral sides feature stylized water birds. Such pieces were discovered in the sacred area and in the emplecton of the fortification from Grădiștea de Munte – Sarmizegetusa Regia. In the archaeological literature, it is assumed that such pieces had a decorative role, most probably, within some constructions from the sacred area of the settlement.
